Cheney threw himself into public combat against the "far left" agenda of the new commander in chief. More private reflections, as his memoir takes shape in slashing longhand on legal pads, have opened a second front against Cheney's White House partner of eight years, George W. Bush. Cheney's disappointment with the former president [sic] surfaced recently in one of the informal conversations he is holding to discuss the book with authors, diplomats, policy experts and past colleagues.


White House Proposes Higher Fees on Big Financial Firms The Obama administration is pressing ahead with its broad overhaul of financial regulation by proposing to hike the fees big financial firms pay for federal oversight while easing the burden for smaller ones, officials said. The new two-tiered, pay-for-regulation approach is intended to partly cover the costs of more vigorous bank regulation and a new consumer financial protection agency.


Michael Vick Signed by Philadelphia Eagles

Michael Vick has been signed to a two year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Under the reinstatement plan, Vick can participate in preseason practices, workouts, meetings, and play in the Eagles' final two exhibition games. He could receive full reinstatement at any point, but Goodell said he would grant that by the weekend of Oct. 18-19 at the latest, provided Vick lives up to his end of the agreement.

According to Fox's Jay Glazer, Vick signed a one-year, $1.6-million contract with a team option for 2010. The option is for $5.2 million.

This is unusual that a former VP will throw the Pres under the bus, but then this was an unusual type of VP and Pres.

Yes, it is usual when the former VP is scared as sh*t that his crimes will be exposed. But, he would have never thought his puppet would fall that stupid. And besides Cheney was always the President and not the Gerbil. The Gerbil was President in title only. Everyday was Disneyland to the Gerbil in his mind as long as he had Dick and the Gerbil's base to do his dirty work.
