"Why Just Her" book on Palfrey will be released on Friday.

May 1 will be the one year anniversary of Deborah Jeane Palfrey's death. I will write my thoughtws on Friday's posting. I received an email from Jeane's former attorney Montgomery Blair Sibley. He is releasing his book about Jeane's case. The link about the book will be on the left side bar of the blog. Here is the email from Mr. Sibley:

Greetings:

As I trust your recall, I was the attorney for the D.C. Madam, Deborah Jeane Palfrey, who you may remember committed suicide on May 1st of last year. I have written a book about her and the judicial system which drove her to commit suicide entitled: "Why Just Her: The Judicial Lynching of the D.C. Madam, Deborah Jeane Palfrey." The book traces how the Washington Beltway mob insured that the clients of her service would never be fully known. More details on the book can be found at
www.WhyJustHer.com.

As "Why Just Her" addresses both fundamental issues of social justice, criminal law and the escort industry, I write to alert you to the book's publication.

If you would take two (2) minutes to view the YouTube "Why Just Her" book trailer, you will see that the Jeane’s story has some sensational aspects that reached all the way to the Bush II White House.

Deborah Jeane Palfrey set up her Estate including trust funds.

And certainly the last laugh is on the government. The players got played. Jeane still won in the end. She knew the government's game. Still, it is a sad ending for her but poetic justice.

The D.C. court issued an Order several months ago for both sides, Deborah Jeane Palfrey's mother, Blanche Palfrey and the Government to try to mediate a settlement between them and to keep the Court informed via filed
Status Reports by the Estate. But, Ms. Palfrey left a bombshell for the Government.

Ms. Palfrey left a Will that her Estate that was found in September 2008 among her belongings in one of the three properties she owned that is now in a Civil Forfeiture Suit where the government is still attempting to take all of the property.

The Estate made a disclosure to the court. Deborah Jeane Palfrey left all of her assets in a trust fund for “The Innocence Project”, whom has notified the Estate that that they intend to file in the Probate Courts that The Innocence Project will fight legally to see that Deborah Palfrey last wish would be followed.

“The Innocence Project” is a national litigation and public policy organization dedicated to exonerating wrongfully convicted people through DNA testing and reforming the criminal justice system to prevent future injustice. On their home page they have a note up that because of them 20 people were clear in 2008 and are home this year to celebrate the holidays.”

As we informed the Court in the October 6, 2008, Status Report, in addition to the discovery of the Will, the Executor discovered documents setting forth the terms of a Trust established by Deborah Jeane Palfrey. The Trust was created for the benefit of Deborah JeanePalfrey during her life and a non-profit organization, The Innocence Project, following her death.

We have been advised that the successor trustee(s) designated in the Trust documents have declined to serve in that capacity, and upon information and belief, the matter of the appointment of a successor Trustee is pending before a Florida court.

Next court date is on February 23, 2009.

Former Lt. and ex-employee of Jeane Palfrey allowed to retire at O-4.

Navy Times:

Lt. Cmdr. Rebecca Dickinson has retired from the Navy with no reduction in rank, despite her admission that she moonlighted as a high-end prostitute for Washington powerbrokers while assigned to the Naval Academy, a Navy spokeswoman confirmed.

In federal court in April, Dickinson testified about her stint as an escort at the trial of Deborah Jeane Palfrey, a California businesswoman known as the “D.C. Madam.” Dickinson said she charged $275 for a 90-minute session, typically keeping $130 for herself and sending $145 to Palfrey.
A Navy spokeswoman confirmed Dickinson’s Oct. 31 retirement after it was first reported by the Web site
militarycorruption.com.

In April, the Navy fired her from her job at the Navy Supply Corps School in Georgia, gave her a letter of reprimand and forced her to go on indefinite leave.

A Navy official at the time said the Navy could give her a reduction in rank if it determined that her service as a lieutenant commander was not honorable.
Dickinson’s attorney, Jonathan Gladstone, said federal prosecutors granted

Dickinson immunity earlier this year in exchange for her testimony. That agreement prevented naval authorities from taking Dickinson to court-martial, but provided no guarantees regarding the terms of her retirement.

“This is a very unhappy case for just about everyone who it touched,” Gladstone told Navy Times. “I’m glad to see that efforts were made to not make things any worse than they had to be.”

Florida police closed Palfrey investigation; Ruled death as suicide.

DCist:

Looks like the story on the D.C. Madam has, finally, come to a close. The police in Tarpon Springs, Fla. are officially ending their investigation into Deborah Palfrey's death, confirming it was indeed suicide. Palfrey hanged herself back in May, after being convicted in April for money laundering, racketeering, and using the mail for illegal purposes. The charges were in connection with her California call girl firm, Pamela Martin & Associates, which may have employed at least 132 D.C. area women.

This news is not a surprise to me as I knew that Jeane Palfrey committed suicide on May 1. Now that the Florida police made this official and put an end to the speculation surrounding her death, the findings is now closed but not Jeane Palfrey's case brought by the U.S. Attorney office under Jeffrey Taylor. Ms. Palfrey's case must be reopen. I only hope that President elected Obama and his soon to be appointed Attorney General reopen Ms. Palfrey's case. Justice was not served!
