The statement of the day by McCain's Dr. Phil: “We have sort of become a nation of whiners."

Thinkprogress:
In an interview with the Washington Times, top McCain economic adviser Phil Gramm (yes, that Phil Gramm) has some comforting words for the millions of Americans struggling to pay their bills.
Washington Times:
“You’ve heard of mental depression; this is a mental recession,” he said, noting that growth has held up at about 1 percent despite all the publicity over losing jobs to India, China, illegal immigration, housing and credit problems and record oil prices. “We may have a recession; we haven’t had one yet.”
“We have sort of become a nation of whiners,” he said. “You just hear this constant whining, complaining about a loss of competitiveness, America in decline” despite a major export boom that is the primary reason that growth continues in the economy, he said.

I must admit the come back by Obama was Sweet! While on vacation I hear so many stories of hardship and pain people are having and they don't know what to do. Now when questions of how are you doing most say things are getting harder but still they fight to stay in the homes they can no longer afford or live the life they once did. Even with mild suggestions of helping themselves it seems some people just don't get it. We're lived off the fat of the lamb for so long.

SPB I read some comments by new people who have come to the blog. You are doing one of the best jobs on the web. I guess some of us don't say it enough.
