GOP candidates are still riding that dead horse with their bullhorn to the American people that they see "progress" in Iraq. Another day another nail in the GOP candidate coffin.
From NY Times:
Gathered for a Sunday morning debate in Des Moines, the Republican field offered a clear contrast with Democrats who, in a debate the day before, declared the troop escalation a failure and advocated an American withdrawal from Iraq. By contrast, most of the Republicans pointed to some early evidence of success in Iraq in arguing that it would be a mistake to abandon the war.
“They are making progress, and we are winning on the ground,” said Senator John McCain of Arizona, adding: “We must win. And we will not set a date for surrender, as the Democrats want us to do.”
[SPB banging the head on the desk.] Sigh,, Pass the popcorn, please...

I saw some of the comments and yes these guys are playing to who ever will hear them. I was taken back by Brokeback when he said the first thing he'd do if elected President is appoint a Supreme Court Judge to overturn Roe vs Wade. Now he's out of the campaign.
None of the Republican candidates look like they knew anything. Mitt was talking like he wanted a modeling job. McCain is just sad.
If the Democracts screw up this election, they are a lost cause.
Yeah, kittybowtie, but we have to make sure that Democrats that gets into office is not a Joe Lieberman. I can imagine how Connecticut felt when Lickerman changed coats to Independent when he is really a new GOP recruit for the Gerbil.
