Administration reviewing ways to ease placing suspects on watch list On Friday, the administration altered rules for identifying which passengers flying to the United States should face extra scrutiny at the gate. And it is reviewing ways to make it easier to place suspects on the watch list. "The entire federal government is leaning very far forward on putting people on lists," Russell E. Travers, a deputy director of the National Counterterrorism Center, said at a recent Senate hearing.
Man Billed 'Crash Tax' For Emergency Response If you get into a car accident and 911 is called, you may get billed for the emergency response. Cash-strapped communities are sending out bills to cover the costs of fire trucks responding to crashes. As CBS 2 Investigators reports, often times it does not matter whether you caused the accident or are the victim. Motorists across the country are calling these fees a "crash tax" -- alleged strong-arm tactics angering many, especially when the accidents they are being billed for are not their fault.
