Christopher Kelly, a key figure in the federal corruption probe into former Gov. Rod Blagojevich, is dead.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office today confirmed that Christopher Kelly of Burr Ridge was pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital at 10:46 a.m. The office said hospital officials told them Kelly appeared to have died of salicylate intoxication. According to medical reference guides, salicylates are used in anti-inflammatory and pain relief medications.
Kelly was found in a lumber yard near 173rd Street and Cicero Avenue in Country Club Hills late Friday, said the town's mayor, Dwight Welch. Kelly arrived at Oak Forest Hospital at 11:15 p.m. Friday, said Marcel Bright, a Stroger Hospital spokesman.

Investigators were still at the empty Forest Lumber yard Saturday night as they looked for evidence. The remote spot, opposite insect-filled cornfields near Interstate Highways 57 and 80, was taped off as officers used flashlights to search on hands and knees.
Country Club Hills Mayor Dwight Welch said detectives were looking for cigarette butts or anything else that might be traced to potential witnesses.
Welch said authorities are investigating whether Kelly overdosed, possibly on over-the-counter medicines. The mayor also said Kelly vomited in the lumber yard’s parking lot.

Wow, I thought this was already a circus. Hollywood could not come up with such a bizarre script. What dingdong woman would start dating that guy and be his alleged "girlfriend"? Lumber yard? Who the bloody hell offs themselves in a lumber yard? Because the guy was originally a roofer and he wanted to go back to where it all started??
Yes bits and pieces of this were all over the news yesterday.
Turns out Blago is sorry, and feels sorry for his wife and daughters. By the way "one" of Kelley's girlfriends drove him to the hospital. He was at one of his lumberyards pueking up blood, and "one" of his girlfriends drove him to the hospital.

The woman picked up Kelly at a lumberyard near 173rd St. and Cicero in Country Club Hills, where Kelly reportedly had vomited. Police were taking samples of the vomit and searching for evidence at the lumberyard, the source said. State Police evidence technicians were also called in to search the area near the lumberyard.
The girlfriend then drove Kelly to Oak Forest Hospital, dropped him off and called police to report that she did so, the source said.
Saturday night, police were still unable to find “Kelly’s girl,” Country Club Hills Mayor Dwight Welch said.This Kelly story is all over the place
Seriously the more you read the more stories you get.
Capital Fax has a nice posting of all the different stories. But, one thing they all agree on is Kelly is no longer with us.
