It is May 1, 2009, one year of the suicide death of Deborah Jeane Palfrey [known to the media as the DC Madam]. Her case is still unsolved to why the Bush DOJ target Jeane Palfrey. To recap, Bush DOJ charged Jeane Palfrey of RICO [Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations] of running a prostitution business, Pamela Martin and Associates. Palfrey was faced with 55 years in prison. Keep in mind that government not usually charge prostitution cases under RICO. Prostitution cases are charged usually under the state statures and not federal statures. Palfrey was found guilty of all 5 counts in less than 8 hours with a unanimous vote [only one vote only] in a five day trial on April 15th. Her sentencing was scheduled for July 24, 2008.
Of course, Jeane Palfrey took her life on May 1, 2008. Judge James Robertson vacated her case and charges. All of the names of Jeane Palfrey's former female employees of her company were sealed. A suicide notes were recovered at the scene of Jeane Palfrey's death. One year later, former attorney for Jeane Palfrey, Montgomery Blair Sibley, wrote a book called "Why Just Her: The Judicial Lynching of the D.C. Madam, Deborah Jeane Palfrey" that traces how the Washington Beltway mob insured that the clients of Jeane Palfrey's service would never be fully known. Details on the book can be found at http://www.whyjusther.com/.
I haven't brought the book yet but I will. And I will share some of my thoughts from Sibley's book. From reading some of the excerpts of his book on the website, Sibley leaves the door open for others to seriously question social injustice into Ms. Palfrey's case.
