Today, Human Rights Campaign President Joe Solomnese -- who was sitting in the House gallery with Shepard's mother yesterday when Foxx made her comments -- wrote the congresswoman a letter calling on her to make a full apology. Foxx's office has now released a statement, saying that "hoax" was a "poor choice of words." "I am especially sorry if his grieving family was offended by my statement," she added. However, she said she still stands by her belief that Shepard's murder may not have been motivated by hate.

Rep. Foxx might learn a personal lesson from her comment.
When Peaches was in high school I went as an assistant to the Teaches when a group of people spoke at the school. I set in the back just to keep an eye on the kids. An older couple got up to speak and their story made you cry. The woman spoke as she talked about her son, their only child. He was a grad of the high school many years ago. She said he left home for college and never came back. Her son died at the age of 48 from Prostate Cancer. She told of getting each year a birthday card with only the words love always no name on the card. The cards came from London but she didn't know anyone from England. Well in her son's Will he explained he was gay and he knew they hated gays and often spoke up at Church. He and his partner had to kids, he was a doctor who did only special surgey and worked on 6 months a year. He then volunteered surgey all over the World to the poor. He built a Hospital in London. His parent got close to a million cards after his death and thousand came to his funneral. She said she missed the chance with her son, but her and her husband are Gay Rights workers and travel from school to school telling their story. She wish she could tell her son she loves him and both parent were wrong but they never had a chance. The faces of the kids listening spoke volumes and not many dry eyes either. Hate is something that will eat you alive. Rep. Foxx has a son and two grandchildren. Life isn't always what you want or like. One of her grandchildren might be gay and that would put her in the position she never realize she would be in. Judge and you will be Judged.
