David Gregory suggests Bush 'went out of his way' to follow laws on torture

In a puzzling remark that seems to demonstrate the extent to which the mainstream media tries to "balance" discussions of controversial issues, NBC's

David Gregory suggested Thursday that the Bush Administration issued memorandums outlining the torture of detainees out of great respect for the law."...Did the Bush administration go out of its way to make sure they were adhering to the law and not crossing over that bridge when it came to getting into torture?" he asked rhetorically.

"At a time when the administration and the President will already be under scrutiny for being tough enough, is this a fight they really want to have?" he remarked earlier. "I would also point you to, if you haven't see this already, the Wall Street Journal editorial page today, which I think raises some really tough points about not only what signal you're sending to the rest of the world, but also to potential terrorists out there, about just what it is that U.S. interrogators would do and not do."

It was easy to figure out DG was in bed with Rover when they dirty danced at the press club dinner. Disgusting, he should go to work for Faux news instead of having a somewhat legitimate format to spew his propaganda.

I'm with Prissy. Any respect for Gregory went out the door when he and Rove did their little ditty. He's now up there in the range of respect with Jeff whatshisname Gannon.

Once you've sold your soul to Satan there's no turning back. Gregory had to support and defend the Bush Administration. He's bringing down Meet the Press. The White House knows he's a spokeperson for Bush/Cheney and he'd lied in a minute. As the Economy improves I expect many names will be replaced. David might want to send his resume to Fox News their always looking for stooges. Just think in 2000 David Gregory was one of the most respected reporters and even the White House Press reporter for NBC. Then he was paid off and got involved in spreading lies about WMDs in Iraq, it's been down hill from there. He lost the Press job and they put in all over the place until he now seats at Meet the Press. The rating are low and going lower. Soon Zucker will have to replace him or lose the show.
