USPS Postmaster General to Congress: Postal service going broke.

NY Daily News:

The U.S. Postal Service is going broke.

Postmaster General John Potter told the House that the post office may run out of money by the end of the year if it does not get aid.

He said that the post office is "facing losses of historic proportion. Our situation is critical."

The office simply cannot pay all its bills.

The postmaster said he will pay all the salaries, but that other bills might just have to wait. He also asked that mail delivery drop to five days per week.

Last year, the post office lost $2.8 billion, Fox News reported. This year, it is poised for even bigger losses.

Didn't the postmaster Gen just get a big fat bonus?

Look everyone's got their hand out for free money. Good news is Obama is smart enough to know even the post office has to do some saving. The extra spending done by the Post Office is catching up with them. Don't think that AIG is the only ones taking those expensive trips with taxpayers money, the Post Office has been living large for a long time. Yes they do it on the slide by crying wolf just as the Feds give the Seniors the 3 per cent increase. Now don't think your mailman/lady get any of that fun money, only the top brass get to party.
