Bill Seeks to Let FDIC Borrow up to $500 Billion Senate Banking Committee Chairman Christopher Dodd (D-CT.) is moving to allow the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. to temporarily borrow as much as $500 billion from the Treasury Department.
