Reagan Centennial Commission? Is this neccessary?

The House voted 371-19 last night to shell out $1 million to fund "establish the Ronald Reagan Centennial Commission," to set up events to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Great Communicator's 1911 birth.

Budget hawk Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) was one of only two GOP "no" votes (Ron Paul was the other).

The party's leadership -- Minority Leader John A. Boehner and Whip Eric Cantor -- were emphatically supportive, even though they hammered Democrats during the stimulus debate for failing to first seek private donors before grabbing public funding for re-sodding the National Mall.
