On Monday, President-elect Barack Obama formally named Susan Rice as his nominee to be U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. After the press conference, Rice spoke to The New Republic’s Dayo Olopade, telling her that she wanted “to call up former holders of the position for advice.” There was one former UN ambassador, however, who Rice said she didn’t want to speak to: John Bolton
