Shoe thrown at Bush sent Turkish maker's sales soaring.

Dec. 19 (Bloomberg) -- The shoe hurled at President George W. Bush has sent sales soaring at the Turkish maker as orders pour in from Iraq, the U.S. and Iran.

The brown, thick-soled “Model 271” may soon be renamed “The Bush Shoe” or “Bye-Bye Bush,” Ramazan Baydan, who owns the Istanbul-based producer Baydan Ayakkabicilik San. & Tic., said in a telephone interview today.

“We’ve been selling these shoes for years but, thanks to Bush, orders are flying in like crazy,” he said. “We’ve even hired an agency to look at television advertising.”

Maliki has to do somethng quick to stop this Shoe Man from getting more popular. The Iraq electiion is coming up and Maliki isn't doing to well. Maliki tried the US way of handling it and had a fake letter saying the man was sorry and asked for a pardon. Now that didn't work because it sound like what it was an American story. Now if Maliki has a brain he will embarce the man on Jan. 20th and declare him a National Hero, that make get him the votes he needs. Bush killed 1 million Iraqi men/woman/children and what are those people suppose to say Thank You for killing us? We in America throw eggs, pies and tomatoes but that's ok in Iraq they throw shoes and they should be put to death. The Media showed the people hitting the heels of their shoes at Saddam's statue and the US cheered. Not knowing the Iraq culture gives the Media and some Americans reason to not understand. What would Americans do if what we did to Iraq was done to us?

Jackie,
Good Question ... What would we have done if Iraq did this?
Hmm we killed their leader and his son's and later found no WMDs or link to 9/11, and we completely dissolved Iraq as a full country, we destroyed it's military that we could of left in place to work for itself, we killed millions of Iraqi Civilians, we left people fleeing to other countries, breaking multitudes of families apart never to find each other again. Hmm, what would Iraq have done...Iraq was so busy trying to take over parts of Kuwait, 1st Golf war, then it has been so busy fighting with Iran on and off for years and years.
Was Iraq too busy with other conflicts and too small to do any significant damage to the US?
