Obama report on Blago probe out this week.

Talkleft:

President Elect Barack Obama's report on his staff's contacts with Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich will be release this week. A chiron on Meet the Press read there were 22 contacts between Blagojevich and Rahm Emanuel. George Stephanapoulus says there was one conversation. Politico reports there were four conversations.

Sources also confirm that Emanuel made the case for picking Obama confidante Valerie Jarrett during at least one of the conversations. In the course of that conversation, [Blagojevich Chief of Staff John] Harris asked if in return for picking Jarrett, 'all we get is appreciation, right?' 'Right,' Emanuel responded.
Former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown spoke to Blagojevich after his arrest and
writes in the San Francisco Chronicle:

I can't go into details, but my impression is that the whole mess started because the governor had been considering appointing a political rival, Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan, to the Senate so she wouldn't be able to run against him when he went up for re-election in 2010.

Apparently, Obama's people weren't happy about the idea of Madigan coming to Washington, and there were some pretty heated conversations between Blagojevich and Obama chief of staff Rahm Emanuel, which I understand will burn your ears off.

As usual the media is asleep at the wheel. Looks like Madigan was eyed for the Senate seat by G-Rod of political gain. And it is no big secret that Madigan wants G-Rod's position as Governor. G-Rod wasn't just aiming at Obama's Senate seat as auction but perhaps Rahm's Congressional seat as well. And the conversation between Harris and Rahm makes sense to why G-Rod reacted to Rahm's selection for the Senate seat (Senate candidate #1, aka Valerie Jarrett):

Pg. 68:

Later in the conversation, ROD BLAGOJEVICH said he knows that the President-elect wants Senate Candidate 1 for the Senate seat but “they’re not willing to give me anything except appreciation. F**k them.”

And here is the conversation of the Fifth CD thing:

Pg. 70:

ROD BLAGOJEVICH said he wanted “[President-elect Advisor] to get the word today,” and that when “he asks me for the Fifth CD thing I want it to be in his head.” (The reference to the “Fifth CD thing” is believed to relate to a seat in the United States House ofRepresentatives from Illinois’ Fifth Congressional District. Prior intercepted phone conversations indicate that ROD BLAGOJEVICH and others were determining whether ROD BLAGOJEVICH has the power to appoint an interim replacement until a special election for the seat can be held.).

G-Rod is cool he really plays the game well. I knew something was up for Lisa to be his first pick to replace Obama. Now it makes since by Daddy Madigan jumped in so fast to kick G-Rod out and put Lisa in. Another thing became clearer is how little and desprate Lisa is to be Governor. She filed a charge with the Court that they couldn't even dignify with an answer because it was something even a first year law student would know can't be done. It makes it clear that Lisa doesn't know the Law very well. I guess Gonzales isn't the only top Attorney who doesn't know Law but got their job the old fashion way. Good thing for the people of Illinois is Lisa has educaated smart Lawyers working under her. The Media is so clueless and twisting the facts to fit headlines. Rahm Emanuel is to smart to get caught up in crimes. The Media forgets that both Obama and Emanuel are from Illinois and know all the players and how they play. It's hard work staying honest with a corrupt group in any State. New York and New Jersey have their own share of crooks. Out here in California we have so many their tanning on the beach. Arnie is just the puppet and when he's caught he says he doesn't understand English well and he acts dumb and calls Maria for help.
