This was passed along to me..
Tuesday, Assemblyman Mike Villines (R-Clovis), chairman of the McCain/Palin Environmental Coalition, gave a press conference to promote the McCain/Palin Environmental Coalition and endorse John McCain's "energy plans" and "message of environmental conservation, renewable energy, and national security and economic prosperity."
However, when I got there, only one photographer had showed up, and no reporters were there. Could it be that people know that the McCain/Palin Environmental Coalition is just more of the same Bush environmental policies, and they're not buying the coalition's false promises? I think so.
Just look at the facts. Over the last two years, the California Conservation League of Voters has given Mike Villines a scorecard of 4.5%, which just shows what a poor chairman he makes and calls into question McCain’s ability to surround himself with qualified people. There are also no major environmental organizations that support the McCain/Palin ticket in California or nationwide. Obviously, environmentalists are no friends of the dangerous McCain/Palin environmental policies.
Also, Anti-McCain protest..
John McCain was in Sacramento for yesterday's morning fundraiser at the downtown Sheraton late last month. The Sacramento Central Labor Council and the California Democratic Party held a rally for Democrats outside in protest.
The best part of the anti-McCain rally was the magnificent turn-out from the Labor Unions as organized by Papa Bear himself, Mr. Bill Camp, Executive Secretary of the Sacramento Central Labor Council. Gino, a war veteran and member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), was someone with whom I spoke the most. When he arrived at our table he looked at our signs with relief and said, “I guess I’m finally in the right place!”
We laughed because he had to wade through a handful of pro McCain people across the way. Our signs read: “McCain=Bush III,” “ExxonMcCain ’08,” and “Like Bush’s Economy? Hire McCain.” We were going to remind Mr. McCain that working people were not going to be forgotten over a few mimosas.
