SPB News for Tuesday.

Putin vows 'an answer' to NATO ships near Georgia Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said Tuesday that Russia will respond calmly to an increase in NATO ships in the Black Sea in the aftermath of the short war with Georgia, but promised that "there will be an answer." Absence of Bush and Cheney cheers Republican delegates Although they were reluctant to say it out loud, many Republicans were relieved Monday that President [sic] Bush didn't attend the Republican National Convention. WATB: McCain cancels Larry King appearance
It’s amazing that John McCain was so offended by a journalist actually doing her job. All Campbell Brown did was press Tucker to name one important decision Sarah Palin made as “commander-in-chief” of the Alaska National Guard. It’s not surprising that he was hard-pressed to come up with one considering the Alaska National Guard General has confirmed that she has
nothing to do with national defense activities. Strike 18 for the McCain/Palin ticket.
