Biden on Palin's media coverage:

Asked if some of the criticism aimed at Palin has been sexist, Biden said: "Yes, by you guys in the media. ... When I heard that media response, you know, this coming from some of the right-wing guys, saying that, 'Well, how can you be a mother and a vice president at the same time?' ... I mean, millions of women in America are going through exactly what she (is going) through. And guess what? They can handle it."

Biden on Palin's speech:

As for how Palin handled her speech at the Republican National Convention, Biden said he was impressed.

"I thought she had a great night," the senator said of Palin. "I thought she had a very skillfully written and very skillfully delivered political speech and I was impressed with her."

"I was also impressed with what I didn't hear," Biden added. "I didn't hear a word mentioned about the middle class or healthcare or about how people are going to fill up their gas tanks."

The Democratic vice presidential nominee noted that the speech reeked of the influence of Karl Rove.

"That's sort of the Rovian way of doing things," he said. "You know, I think it's a political skill set that Republicans have used with some effectiveness over the years and so it's not surprising to me."

"I don't know if they're effective or not," he said of such tactics. "That's for the American people to decide. My guess is that they saw through a lot of it. So much of what was said was just simply not true."

Commentary: I have read everyone's comments onthe blog about Palin's speech and the dislikeness of her attacking Obama. Folks, this is all about politics. Amd Palin had to come out swinging. And she did that effectively, but with the Bush playbook and script. But, it boils down to whether she can be the next VP from her resume as the Governor and former mayor. As Biden said, she didn't talk about the middle class, the economy, and so on. She may be pandering to the women for voters but the media is not looking at those minority voters especially the African-American women. Remember, there is only 2% African-American delegate GOP voters at the RNC. So, it boils down to the issues on all political parties in this race and not whether a candidate gives a good speech. Palin made her debut yesterday on the podium. And that was just one night. And there is a short period of time before November to appeal to those voters that McCain-Palin ticket are pandering to. But, I agree with Biden thatthe families and personal lives of the candidates should be left out and the issues are important. My own concern for this race is the issues only. Now, whether Palin is good mother or bad mother and so on is very irrelevant. People's concern is about the food on the table, the gas in their car, the job market, healthcare, and so on.

Finally, none of the speakers didn't touch on the healthcare crisis in this country. And Carly Fiorina and Meg Whitman's speeches. They are appealing to the women and the discussion of jobs and business. But, these women are successful professional and business women. Can the average working class women who are unemployed or working several jobs to make ends meet can relate to Whitman and Fiorina. Maybe not. So, the RNC theme has successed in their theme: Country First. But, the next POTUS have to put the people first and country second. The RNC is missing the word through the event: public servant.

Here is Biden on the Today show. "Show me" will be the theme from most folks that are looking at the candidate that will be best fit in the White House.
