Palin gives her speech at RNC.

Well, the moment has come. We had heard from Mr. Breck Romney, Frederick of Hollywood Thompson, Rudy [Ginger ]Guiliani, Zellieberman and so on. Sarah Palin finally speaks yesterday as he accepted the Veep nomination. And she came out swinging thanks to her wonderful coaching by the Bush Administration. Yes, she talked about her town roots, her family, her beliefs, her cheerleader pep talks about McCain, and her attacks on Obama. In fact, the speakers yesterday and today were in the attacking mode of Obama. But, I heard very little attacks on Biden which tells me of their fear of Biden giving his 30 year track record in the Senate. As the crowd cheered and got on their feet on Palin's speech, the gloves come off in October when she faces Biden in a debate where she will be judged on issues. Palin tends to forget that she rnning for Veep not President. She will be judged whether she is fit as Veep. Also, in the video, look at 5:00 part of her children. I saw a less than thrilled face of the children especially Birstol's boyfriend and father of her baby. Seemed stage to me. Judge for yourself. Here are some reactions:

Jeralyn from Talkleft:

I feel like I'm watching the Beverly Hilbillies. Jennie C. Reilly and the Harper and the Harper Valley PTA?

She didn't need focus groups before, but she's going to get ready for them quick.

I think these people have lost their minds.

An image of Condi Rice just flashed in my mind. What a contrast in competence. The American public won't buy this. Can you picture her meeting with the CIA? The U.N.? If she's the future as Rudy said, we're all in deep doo-doo.

It's surreal to hear her regurgitate the campaign's attacks on Obama. Does she really think anyone will believe her experience as mayor of TinyTown and 1/1/2 years as Governor compares? It's like she is performing in a high school play.

Ok, stick a fork in her, she's done. She just bashed Miranda rights. My gloves are going to come off.

Crooks and Liars:

Interesting choice on her part to repeat rank falsehoods that have already been debunked ten times over. A sample:

I suspended the state fuel tax, and championed reform to end the abuses of earmark spending by Congress. Strike One.

I told the Congress “thanks, but no thanks,” for that Bridge to Nowhere. Strike Two.

If our state wanted a bridge, we’d build it ourselves. When oil and gas prices went up dramatically, and filled up the state treasury, I sent a large share of that revenue back where it belonged - directly to the people of Alaska. Strike Three.

Obama Campaign Spokesman Bill Burton responds:
“The speech that Governor Palin was well delivered, but it was written by George Bush’s speechwriter and sounds exactly like the same divisive, partisan attacks we’ve heard from George Bush for the last eight years. If Governor Palin and John McCain want to define ‘change’ as voting with George Bush 90% of the time, that’s their choice, but we don’t think the American people are ready to take a 10% chance on change.”

Full transcript below the fold: (Read the rest of this story…)

Finally, I noticed this from her speech:

Palin: Children with special needs inspire a very special kind of love. And to the parents of special needs children across the country, I have a message for you. For years you sought to make America a more welcoming place for your sons and daughters. And I pledge to you that if we are elected, you will have a friend and advocate in the White House.

Only one problem: McCain does not support the Community Choice Act, which would expand funding for care for the disabled.

On a side note: Coverage of the Democratic National Convention claimed three slots in the week's top 20, with Thursday's acceptance speech by presidential candidate Barack Obama in 11th place (as carried by ABC) and 14th place (on NBC). NBC's Tuesday convention coverage ranked 16th.Viewership is down this week. Will be interesting how many watch McCain's speech tonight.

First off she came accross angry, she even had made reference to the styrofoam greek pilars (at the DNC) saying when they are packed up with the DNC........

She just attacked Obama, so it was a really negative speech.
The stadium which was no where near full, maybe 25% or more empty seats. They kept showing Cindy McCain in that horrific green color dress......didn't anyone tell this woman this color is horrific, especially on her? She also had her hair down...another bad fashion move, and noticably abscent was the bright pink cast.

All Palin did was kept on about drilling for oil, less dependance on oil from sources they don't want to get it from.
Attacking Obama.
She kept up with McCain served his country etc. War, and fear mongering again.
So many questions unanswered
But what about jobs, what about the economy, what about healthcare?

Oh she also brought up about special needs children and she would be the WH advocate for them......might get some votes on that one.

Rudia went on too long....got really winded, all he did was McCain war vet.....oh pa leeze is McCain running on the war vet ticket? I had to change to another channel the one I was on kept the cameras on all the war vets, obviously GOP monitored/controlled coverage.

Not impressed angry GOPs, still the war mongering fear tactics going on.

I have a cousin up in Alaska and she's a Republican, she's a conservative Catholic, anti-abortion and I know that she will be voting for Sarah Palin, I figure she probably voted for her for governor. My cousin is absolutely for drilling, like the majority of Alaskans, who see drilling means jobs. She was vexed by those in the Lower 48 who have consistently thwarted what all Alaskans want. The tree huggers. Now, I know that Ms. Palin will also appeal to that Christian base that GWB tapped and who feel used by him. Hate to say it but she is perfect for them.

I did her astrology last night and she is definitely a pit bull. But one who is likely to act from her gut instincts, like McCain, without considering the consequences. She likes power and to be around powerful people, whether she balks at being around powerful gangsters is another thing, once she realizes what she's gotten herself into. I think she may have some guilt about parenting, but she probably pushes it to the back of her mind. How she will handle all the digging into her past will tell. If she's told little white lies, she probably believes she was doing what she needed to do.
I find it interesting that she went out of her way to fire her ex-brother-in-law, in that trying to get him out of government would only hurt his income which would not benefit her sister, should alimony and divorce settlements be an issue. Crushing the opposition, this vindictive behavior is part of who she is, like hunting wolves from planes.Get rid of them.
The Democrats should not underestimate her one bit. Senators Obama and Biden are DC and the Republicans want to appeal to the Joe-Six-Pack voters. Those without the education who are struggling, who work in factories. She's a Richard Nixon in a cloth coat.

Ok, the boyfriend of Bristol looked less than thrilled to be there, like he would rather be any where else.

Also Cindy McCain in that hideous green dress was holding Twig, the baby boy, passing him back and forth to the Dad then finally to the youngest daughter......can't remember the crazy name they gave that child.

One thing about Cindy McCain she must really want attention with the obnoxious green dress last night you could see her anywhere in the stadium I am sure, and the bright pink cast the week before.....

What a Lily white crowd there in attendance. And all the goofy hats, the big cat in the hat red white and blue hats, to all the cowboy hats, to all the hats with buttoms......
The GOP base was white, old....and that's 99.9% of what was in attendance, I think that people should be scarred by the fact that this group does not represent the American population at all.

That woman criticized Miranda rights.

A bunch more of the speech stole stuff from Obama.

I already posted the stuff yesterday about her going after some librarian in her small little town, not unlike her vindictive swat against the cops.

If McSame wins, world leaders are going to think she is a freaking joke.

Has this woman ever gone to college? If so, where? Majoring in what?

I seriously cannot wait until she debates with Biden.

I hope Hillary comes out swinging.

If this woman likes guns so much, I *dare* her to be a community organizer on the South Side where Obama was. She better bring body armor 'cause the damn gang kids can't shoot straight and take out innocent ten-year-olds.

I bet if someone put a bag over her head and she had to run on smarts and knowledge instead of looks, she would not win.

Hillary already said that she will be doing more stumps for Obama. So, look for her to tear in Palin as Palin compared herself to Hillary. Yes, I heard that Palin criticized Miranda rights. She is frightening running mate.

This should be give good news to Jackie. Word is that Palin-McCain will not be doing alot of campaigning in California because the state is widely a Democratic state but they will be going to certain cities in CA but I bet they won't hit Los Angeles. We shall see what happens.
