McCain camp knocks down National Enquirer's Palin affair rumor.

Interesting McCain camp squashed this but the media hounded John Edwards of his now admitted affair in the tabloids.

ST. PAUL, MINN.) – John McCain’s campaign threatened legal action against the National Enquirer today for running a story about McCain’s running mate, Sarah Palin, allegedly having an affair with her husband’s business partner.

“The smearing of the Palin family must end. The allegations contained on the cover of the National Enquirer insinuating that Gov. Palin had an extramarital affair are categorically false. It is a vicious lie,” said McCain senior adviser Steve Schmidt.

“The efforts of the media and tabloids to destroy this fine and accomplished public servant are a disgrace. The American people will reject it.”

The Enquirer also alleges that Palin unjustly fired a public safety official while she was governor of Alaska, but the story is based entirely on unnamed sources. The Enquirer has also paid sources in the past to speak with them, something mainstream media outlets do not do.
Read on.

Best believe that the blogsphere will follow this one.

Also this in regards to why Palin spilled the beans about her teen daughter's pregnancy. the pressure to come forward so quickly may have either or both from the internet pregnant rumors of her infant son or the tabloids finding out about Palin's daughter pregnancy.

National Enquirer:

The ultra-conservative governor’s announcement about her daughter’s pregnancy came hours after The ENQUIRER informed her representatives and family members of Levi Johnston, the father of Bristol’s child, that we were aware of the pregnancy and were going to break the news. In a preemptive strike Palin released the news, creating political shockwaves.

Finally this:

The tabloid quotes an insider as saying that the governor wanted to announce that Bristol was expecting and had set a wedding date before McCain went public with his vice-presidential choice. But, the story says, the baby's father, high school student Levi Johnston, balked at the plan.

This is a never ending story of a soap opera. Lots of twists and turns. Just can't wait for the debates where we hear the candidates' issues.

Yes, Chicago Native.

That was the Globe, Prissy. About the bottle and Laura' split with George are all from the Globe. The media gives a pass on that. Yet, Edwards is slammed. and McCain wants to squashed the alleged Palin affair. Whether it is true or not it really irrelevant because the troopgate and now new ethics complaint adds more problems for Palin.
