E-mails to GOP Rep. Ramstad office oppose bailout.

From Star Tribune:

The office of Rep. Jim Ramstad, R-Minn., said constituent e-mails were running strongly against the Bush administration's proposed financial rescue plan.

Here's an example of one e-mail:

I would like to voice my deep concern over the proposed bailout plan for Wall Street. This plan should not be ratified.

I do not believe that the plan will work to create stability in the markets.

... Even if the bailout was to be passed in its currently form or slightly modified version, we would continue to see bankruptcies and foreclosures continue creating more toxic holdings for the financial firms. We would continue to see a further collapse of the financial and banking sectors. We would see a continued decline in the country's economy. These problems were ignored for far too long and have already created a huge impact.

I am also concerned that such a large amount of money would be given over without any accountability. This would be a great mistake in itself as well.

We need private investors to begin funding and rebuilding Wall Street, not the taxpayers and their tax dollars. This will take time to succeed, but would have a greater positive impact on Wall Street than using taxpayer money.

I'm fine with a bailout-as long as we all get our certificate of shares for our taxpayer ownership in the companies involved..Vive la Nationalism!

I thought rich guys hated socialism-oh not socialism for the wealthy, what was I thinking??
