McCain’s Veep announcement: August 29

The McCain campaign has insisted that Reed “sent the messages on his own and was not coordinating with the campaign,” but Reed told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that “he sent the e-mail at the request of the campaign and was given boilerplate language to use.”

· While celebrating his 72nd birthday on August 29, presumptive GOP nominee John McCain plans to announce who will join him on the Republican ticket for the presidency.

That’s one day after Sen. Barack Obama give his nomination acceptance speech in Denver, says Politico in an exclusive report. The plan, it seems, is simple:

“The announcement strategy — provided McCain doesn’t change it — calls for naming the pick early Friday morning [August 29] to try to suppress Obama’s bounce coming out of his convention.

“‘You’re going to own the weekend,’ a McCain official said.

“The Republican convention begins the following Monday in St. Paul, Minn.”
According to the report, among those in the running are Connecticut Sen. Joseph Lieberman, former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, and former homeland security director Tom Ridge.

McCain will have to pick himself a President not a VP. Look Teflon John is going fast and might not make it to the end. If he does he wont remember anything. The GOP will have to look for a President. I think the pick will be the young dude name Cantor. Yes he's from the rich Cantor Family and will continue to follow the course set out by the GOP.
