LOOKALIKES or Separated by birth?: Former British Olympic swimmer Steve Parry (inset) and now BBC TV commentator has been mobbed in Tiananmen Square after being mistaken for US super-fish Michael Phelps, the winner of eight gold medals at the Beijing Olympics"I am not Michael Phelps," he kept shouting as fans tried to have their picture taken with him and asking for his autograph, "I am Steve Parry from England."
Parry, the BBC reported, had been asked to take a cardboard cut-out of Phelps into Tiananmen Square to show how many people would want to have their picture taken with it.
But he was instantly mobbed by over 100 fans and it took several minutes to convince people he was not the winner of eight gold medals in the photo.
How lucky for Parry to have that problem..

I saw that report it was interesting. I also read Michael Phelps Father did a McCain. Gary Phelps a respected State Trooper dumped his wife and kids. yes Micheal was nine when his Dad skipped out and married another woman. Dad live happy with his new Family and never gave a thought about the kids he left behind until.... Micheal won his first Gold Medal back in 2004. Fourteen years went by and Gary Phelps never contacted his son or daughters. Now he is the proud Father of the greatest swimmer in history. Dad steps out of the shadows and takes the credit of being the Father even knowing he never did anything for his son. Dad as no interest in the daughters he left behind either. He only speaks of Micheal and of course he children he raised with his second wife. Yes Gary Phelps is a true believer in the McCain Policy of dump the wife and kids forever until you can use them for personal gain. Daddy Phelps is looking to make money now that he's retired from the State Police. You have to love the Fathers of America and their Values and Morals. Even the second wife is looking to make a buck off Michael who knows who else will come out of the ground now.
Michael Phelps is old enough and mature enough to know if his father will try to cash on his son's fame. From the time that I have to watch the Olympics, Michael Phelps is very close with his mother and sisters. So, Gary Phelps has to deal with his son, Michael, a 23 year old grown man and not his ex-wife.
I give a lot of credit to Michael's mother for raising him to be the man that he is. So, I feel sorry on the end of Gary Phelps because he will not ever be part of Michael's life when he was struggling as an athlete and as child into a adult. The things that matter in life is when a person was there for another person for the good and the bad unconditionally.
