On June 9, 2008, I received an email from the late Deborah Jeane Palfrey’s civil attorney, Montgomery Blair Sibley, on the latest in Ms. Palfrey. On May 20, 2008, Judge Robertson abated Ms. Palfrey criminal case due to her death on May 1, 2008. However, Ms. Palfrey’s civil case still proceeds. More from Newsinkling.org.
Here is a recent update on the Palfrey estate. Currently, there is a fight between the Jeane's assets between the government and Jeane's mother Blanche, who was given power to Jeane's estate after her death and the fight between the two attorneys for counsel for Jeane's mother:
May 20, 2008: Court Order taking under advisement the pleading of Ms. Blanche Palfrey to be substituted for her daughter, and the U.S. Attorney office still wanting the property to be forfeited and be put in their “funds”.
June 12, 2008: Blanche Palfrey's Petition to Assert her individual interest in Jeane's properties as a parent who needs her daughter’s property to support the mother who is in need of financial support from her daughter’s estate.
June 12, 2008: Blanche Palfrey's Motion to Substitute Counsel from Montgomery Blair Sibley [who was Jeane's civil attorney and criminal attorney but was later replaced as criminal attorney with Burton] to Preston Burton [was Jeane's criminal attorney, then replaced with Sibley, and then was re-appointed again as Jeane's attorney] in the proceedings to retrieve her daughter’s estate in the forfeiture civil hearings in regards to the “gains” for prostitution received.
June 12, 2008: Notice of Appearance of Preston Burton on behalf of Blanche Palfrey the presumed executrix of the estate of Deborah Jeane Palfrey.
June 14, 2008: Montgomery Blair Sibley's notice of temporary Suspension by the Florida Bar and Washington D. C. bar and asking the court for a hearing to not substitute Preston Burton in his place in spite of Blanche Palfrey’s request.
