McClellan on his testimony: I’m ‘sure’ WH will consider invoking executive privilege.

Thinkprogress:

Former White House press secretary Scott McClellan has agreed to testify, under oath, to the House Judiciary Committee on June 20. Yesterday at a book reading in Washington, DC, McClellan said that he expects the White House to think about invoking executive privilege before he goes before Congress:

When asked if his testimony next week might prompt any invoking of executive privilege - a power which can allow the president to block testimony- McClellan said, “I don’t have anything incriminating to say here if that’s what you’re looking for.

“Well I imagine if Congress tries to go into other issues, ones I haven’t spoken about in the book, I’m sure the White House would think seriously about that.“

And that will be interesting if Bush invokes executive privilege. Scotty will be the first person connected in Bush's crimes that is willing to testify and didn't invoke executive privilege.

Scott was advised long ago about what might happen. If the White House does say Scott has executive privilege and can't testify in the criminal acts done by the White House. The public will know the answer. Scott might even know his information is of value as he wasn't part of the criminal team. Karl Rove got caught lying to the Grand Jury because a woman who didn't know her information would prove him a liar under oath. Let's see what the American people and the Law Makers think of the White House actions.
