Remembering Mildred Loving.

Crooks and Liars:

Mildred Loving was a black woman who married a white man in Virginia, which was against the law in the state. She took her case all the way up to the Supreme Court, which struck down interracial marriage bans in the 1967 Loving v. Virginia decision. [..]It was announced (this week) that she has died at the age of 68. But what her AP obituary doesn’t mention—hopefully others will correct the oversight—is that last year Mildred Loving came out foursquare for marriage equality for same-sex couples as well, and insisted you should, too.

I remember people saying their marriage wouldn't last. White's hated the wife and Black's hated the husband. When both were on TV for an interview before the Supreme Court case they really had no idea what the problem was. He was a man of few words and said he loved his wife and would never leave her. She was calm and lady like but just wanted to be left alone with her husband and kids. Strange times the 50's and 60's as two people didn't see color but love. Something alot of people had a problem with. So much was happening in the Civil Rights Movement at the time. But Mr. and Mrs. Loving proved beyond a reasonable doubt that love is stronger then hate. They stayed happily married even after Mr. Loving death she loved her husband until her death. Not many people can say that no matter what color they are. The good news is heaven doesn't' discriminate and God sees no color. So for those racist looks like heaven isn't for you and you wont be accepted in.

I guess the Loving Marriage could be called a Marriage that lasted a life time.

Another outstanding comment.
