In 2000, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) criticized George W. Bush during a debate for not being willing to make an exception for rape, incest, and the mother’s life in the Republican Party’s platform on abortion. Despite his prior position, ABC News reports that McCain is unlikely to change the platform to include the exception:
A senior Republican close to McCain told ABC News that building a more inclusive GOP is a top priority for the Arizona senator.
But this adviser does not see changing the party platform to include exceptions for rape, incest, and the life of the mother as necessary for achieving that vision.
“I don’t think that’s going to happen. I think you’re going to see a platform process that is going to maintain that plank,” said Sam Brownback (R-KS), a prominent pro-life senator.

McCain doesn't have a choice himself he is controlled by the GOP. He was promised the endorsement by Republicans as long as he does what they tell him. This is politics at it's best. McCain messes up so much because what he thinks and says has to be changed by what he's ordered to do which is stay the course. If elected McCain will bring down Woman's Rights and Civil Rights. We will be able to replace the immigrant farm workers with American workers. We will have a system of Rich and Poor without a Middle Class. Obama was right about change but his mistake is change back to what made this country great. As Americans and Law Makers really don't know the truth about how the US was founded. This land was built and it's wealth was gained on the backs of slaves. Our rich produce, buildings, railroads were all done by slaves and those treated like slaves. We became the richest Nation in the world even by destroying the ones who owned this land. We pushed the Indians out and the Spanish to successful claim this the United States of America. History has shown this isn't new as countries are formed. Look at Isreal on it's 60th Anniversary. If you check a map of the biblical days you'll see just what land and nation was given to Isreal. Today they have stolen a dot of land and looking to bomb countries to get more. We are seeing how Rome fell but this time it's the USA. Listening to the greedy Law Makers and watching the inhuman acts of the White House/Pentagon it's clear the Nation once called USA will fall like others before it because of greed and power. Don't look for the Democrats to change things after listening to Ted Kennedy who thinks he's in charge. As for any President he/she will have to answer to those who paid their way in. John Kerry lost an election he really won but now will run the White House from the back of Obama. Power always destroyed and most people have smoke screens in their faces to follow until they all fall of the cliff. I lived to see the US get as far as it could reach and now I'm watching it fall.
Now those who lack belief should just pick up a book on how the Great Nations of the World fell and you'll see the pattern is the same today.
