From Gulf Times:
WASHINGTON: US President George W Bush yesterday unveiled plans for global warming talks next month that will bring together the world’s biggest polluters to seek agreement on reducing greenhouse gases. Under pressure for tougher action against climate change, Bush invited the European Union, the UN and 11 industrial and developing countries to the September 27-28 meeting in Washington to work toward setting a long-term goal by 2008 to cut emissions. Bush was following through on his pledge in late May to convene a series of conferences with economic powers responsible for producing most of the greenhouse gases blamed for global warming.
But some environmentalists voiced scepticism, seeing it as a bid by the administration to deflect growing international calls for strict US limits on emissions. “In recent years, science has deepened our understanding of climate change and opened new possibilities for confronting it,” Bush said in his invitation letter. He insisted the US “is committed to collaborating with other major economies” on a new global framework for curbing greenhouse gas emissions.
But a senior US official said the administration stood by its opposition to mandatory economy-wide caps. Many climate experts say that without binding US targets, the chance for significant progress is limited. Bush agreed with leaders at a Group of Eight summit in June to make “substantial” but unspecified reductions in greenhouse emissions and to negotiate a new global climate pact that would broaden the Kyoto Protocol beyond its 2012 expiration. But Bush has refused to sign up to numerical targets before rising powers like China and India make similar pledges.
China and India are invited to the conference, together with Japan, Canada, Brazil, South Korea, Mexico, Russia, Australia, Indonesia and South Africa. The EU will include representatives from France, Germany, Italy and Britain.
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will host the meeting, and US officials are confident all invitees will attend.
LOL! Here is an idiot who has ignored the climate in this country yet this country is the lowest rank that has climate problems. An idiot who doesn't believe in global warming. An idiot who thinks global warming is warming the globe! The world leaders are certainly laughing their asses off. The idiot is scraping for a legacy and Iraq is not happening for him.

Now I can see the World Leaders laughing at this. Bush has denied Global Warming since he fixed the office of President. He even didn't attend any of the World Meetings. He made fun and attacked Al Gore's findings. Well God showed the World what we've done to the earth. Floods, heat and total world climate change. Now Bush has lied, cheated and stole he wants the World to believe he is the leader of supporting Global Warming. BBC reported from the UN that Bush is a joke and no one will do any talking with the United States President until after the election. Yes Bush is a lam duck President as seen for the World Leaders.
He has relaxed the pollution laws for the oil/energy industry drastically. He wants to take national conservation areas and drill for oil. He has been the worst president for the environment and conservation. He has become a world wide joke, his handlers should keep him at the ranch as much as possible until the end of his term, don't worry Cheney is running things.
