At a news conference this afternoon, four members of the Senate Judiciary Committee called for the appointment of a special counsel to investigate Alberto Gonzales on perjury charges.
Sens. Charles Schumer, Dianne Feinstein, Russ Feingold, and Sheldon Whitehouse explained in a letter to Solicitor General Paul Clement that “it has become apparent that the Attorney General has provided at a minimum half-truths and misleading statements” to the Judiciary Committee. They wrote:

This is an easy case even a Paralegal can handle this guilty finding. Look all the evidence is there on video and documents. When my son was 6 years old he lied better then Gonzo. What bothered me the must was when Gonzo was laughing as if all this was a joke. Even when shown the documents as proof he acted as if his lie was enough. He should little to no respect during the hearing. One can only think what if the roles were versed and Gonzo was the one asking the questions. Does he really believe that Bush will protect him from everything. The FBI called him a liar in testimony.
