White House used the Republican National Committee

White House used the Republican National Committee and other non-governmental email accounts to conduct official business.

As I wrote last week about the U.S. Attorney firing scandal, more damaging information this week has surfaced on the communications among staff members on a strategy to fire eight attorneys.

We learned that some of the emails into the correspondences among Department of Justice staffers regarding the firings show usages of email accounts maintained by the Republican National Committee. On Monday, Congressman and Chairman for the Oversight and Reform Committee Henry Waxman sent a letter to the Republican National Committee and the Bush-Cheney 2004 campaigning this week urging both to preserve all emails sent by the White House servers relevant to the U.S. Attorney firing scandal.

According to Truthout.org, using alternative email accounts “allows the White House officials to avoid the usual archival process and the automatic paper trail that is established when they use White House email servers to conduct business. Emails sent through the RNC server can be destroyed.”

If there is a way to get around something or get away with something this WH will find it and use it.
