The Chimpster skips the baseball home opener pitch..

For the second year in a row, President Bush will skip the tradition of throwing out the ceremonial first pitch in Washington’s baseball home opener. With Bush’s approval ratings stuck in the low 30s in recent polls, a White House spokeswoman “was asked whether the president feared he’d get booed. ‘No,’ she replied. ‘Certainly not.’” Last Opening Day, Cheney filled in for Bush and was peppered with loud boos.

Bush is lying to himself. He would be booed by the baseball fan if he showed up at the baseball opening. People are pretty angry at him these days. I heard about Hillary Clinton's smashing success of her fundraising. I read the newspaper this morning. Rudy Giuliani raised about 15 million. But, Mitt Romney raised the most: 23 million. I'm not thrilled about either one of the GOP candidates. And I hear too much of Rudy where I am at. Whomever gets in as President, man or woman, he or she has a lot of cleanup from this mess by the Bush Administration.

Mrs. X and Patriot Girl:

I have to agree. Giuliani will be toasted now that his buddy, Bernie, is indicted. There will be too much focus on Kerik-Giuliani connection. That will bury Giuliani's chances for anything. I know Mrs. X that it is a bit nauseating to hear and see the Giuliani lovefest by the media especially Tweety Matthews.

About the Gerbil and declining to throw the first pitch, it is simply fear that he will be laughed at and booed at. With his popularity in the toilet, the Gerbil can't even throw the first pitch on another planet.

I was watching some of McCain of CSPAN this guy is better off going back and finishing out his term as senator, the more he is seen and talking the more he is damaging himself politically.
