Breaking: Rep. Darrell Issa Currently In Syria For Talks

The AP reports that Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) met with Syrian President Bashar Assad today in Damascus. And according to the article, Issa criticized the administration while on the visit:
Commenting on Bush’s criticism, California Republican Darrell Issa said the president had failed to promote the necessary dialogue to resolve disagreements between the U.S. and Syria.

“That’s an important message to realize: We have tensions, but we have two functioning embassies,” Issa told reporters after separate meetings with Assad and his foreign minister, Walid al-Moallem.

ThinkProgress contacted Issa’s press office for comment. Issa may defend the trip by claiming it was Pelosi — not him — that “broke the embargo” of meeting with Syrian officials.

Issa should be worrying about his possible violation of ethic rules in regarding the firing of U.S. Attorney Carol Lam.

Issa helped fire DOJ lawyer so Jerry Lewis wouldn't be indicted now he's off to see what Pelosi was talking about with the Syrian President. Yes three Republicans went before Pelosi to tell the President what Bush/Cheney wanted him to say, it didn't work. Issa went to get information about the Pelosi visit and got nothing. Karl Rove is so stupid the Middle East leaders are smarter then the White House idiots. They know the GOP is in trouble and will play them like a drum. Rove, Fox new and all the paid media are worried about Pelosi what they should be looking at is what was Waxman doing during this trip. Did he find out all the secrets deals and torture done by the White House during the past 6 years. Now just think of this. Issa is now up on ethic charges for illegally involving himself in a Federal criminal investigation as he save a GOP yet now he goes to Syria saying he's against Bush Policy. I know the President of Syria was laughing at how stupid the GOP is now, even a blind man could see through that.
