NBC News reports, “Coming on the heels of a controversial ’surge’ of 21,000 U.S. troops that has stretched the Army thin, the Defense Department is preparing to send an additional 12,000 National Guard combat forces to Iraq and Afghanistan.” The one-year mobilizations are involuntary and will begin early next year.
And I can see why the Chimpster is sending more National Guard soldiers than the soldiers from in the Army, Navy, Marines, etc. because the benefits of the National Guards are lesser than the rest. Very disturbing..

In the artical I read it says Gates will be signing the papers, yet Dumbya the decider takes the credit, while Cheney tells Duhdya what to do. What an unbelievable administration...lol
Most of the troops that are going haven't been trained. Bush is using the troops to push Congress to sign the bill for his money. Notice the troops don't have enough equipment, no training and injured troops aren't getting the medicial care. Now where's that money going? Lies have been coming out from every Bush supporter. It's not about the troops it's all about getting the money as promised to the Saudi King.
