Rummygate at the LA Times

From Crooks and Liars:

I believe I was the first person to tell you that once Hiller was hired on to the LA Times–it would be a mess because of his Republican ties….Bill Boyarski calls for an investigation into the tainted TIMES now. I also told you about Rummy's squash connection with Hiller. Now we learn that Rummy was going to be a guest editor:

…It's now Rumsfeldgate at the Los Angeles Times. I'm told that Donald Rumsfeld was asked to guest-edit the newspaper's "Current" opinion section which appears on Sundays. The ex-Defense Secretary is a long-time personal and professional friend of LA Times publisher David Hiller, who supervises the paper's editorial, Op-Ed and opinion pages. Rumsfeld also has strong ties to the LA Times' parent company since he was a member of Tribune Co.'s board of directors for years…read on

oh PA LEEZE this reminds me of our top news anchors a few years back for years Carol Marin and Ron Majors co-hosted the number one local news for years, then the station decided to hire Jerry Springer as a guest commentator.....yes this is a real story..... well Carol and Ron were really unhappy and let it be known.
Carol Marin's contract was up first, and she left, a few months later so did Ron when his contract was up, now Ron is a co-anchor on the number one local news, Carol Marin writes for the Suntimes, is a co anchor on Chicago tonight, and on NBC where it all started has her doing political reporting appearances. It took a while for NBC to recover from this, and they also got rid of Jerry Springer, who they said they did this because he originally started out as a serious news guy. But the money was better in garbage programs.
