A letter sent by a Republican Congressman to Carol Lam, former US Attorney for the Southern District of California, appears to violate the Ethics rules established by the House of Representatives, RAW STORY has learned
However, another attorney who specializes in Congressional ethics said that although rules may have been violated, there were mitigating factors.
When RAW STORY brought Issa's letter to the attention of the watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, they confirmed that it appeared in violation of the same ethical rules that had prompted them to file complaints against two additional Congress members earlier in the month.
"CREW will be sending an ethics complaint to the House Committee on Standards of Official Conduct regarding
Rep. Issa’s letter to former U.S. Attorney Carol Lam," Naomi Seligman Steiner, the group's Deputy Director, confirmed to RAW STORY this afternoon.

I saw an interview with Patrick Collins done by Carol Marin today. She had asked about these US Attorney filings and he said he knew Lam and worked with her, and he does not know.
But today was his last day, a really sad day at the DOJ for sure.
He now has his first amendment rights back now that he is an average citizen again.
He also said he does not like to see people sentenced and what is really sad is having someone sentenced and an empty court room, no family or friends there and they are off to jail for 20 years.
Interesting that Collins knew Lam.
Issa had to make sure his friends Foggo and Jerry Lewis didn't get those indictments. Issa was paid well for his help. Now the new DOJ can follow the GOP instructions and attack only the cases their told to. Hands off all GOP criminals. Issa is a hero and help crime stay alive.
Patrick Collins worked with her on some committee.
