What a shame...
President Bush’s new budget proposes to “cut federal funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting by nearly 25 percent.” Throughout Bush’s term, the administration has worked to cut funding and put an “ideological stamp” on the content of the programs.

I wouldn't sweat it, the budget won't pass, but we gotta keep the pressure on all of them in DC (not the comics company!).
You are correct Matt!
All while all the garbage on TV goes on, other than the news, History Channel, Discovery Channel, Cspan, and public TV, I don't watch the rest of the trash, and haven't for years, Public TV like Seasame Street that I grew up watching, with Electric Company and Mr. Rogers, it was just mindless cartoons on. Cartoon Network is Trash (even before they had the promo's that caused a bomb scare in Boston, and caught in Chicago)there is not much else for kids to watch, when I was young Alf, Harry and the Henderson's was in prime time, now you can't let kids watch prime time because there is no alien trying to eat cats, or a Sasquatch being hid.
