Recent Senate Votes

Confirmation of Lt. Gen. David H. Petraeus - Vote Confirmed (81-0, 19 Not Voting)The Senate unanimously approved the nomination of Lt. General David Petraeus to oversee U.S. troops in Iraq.

Recent House Votes

Voting by Delegates and the Resident Commissioner - Vote Passed (226-191, 18 Not Voting)This resolution changes House rules to allow the five non-voting members of the chamber to cast votes on the floor in certain situations.

Upcoming Votes

Fair Minimum Wage - H.R.2The Senate is scheduled to vote Wednesday on this bill that would raise the minimum wage.

Expressing the bipartisan resolution on Iraq - S.Con.Res.2Following the minimum wage bill, the Senate is expected to take up this resolution disapproving of President Bush's plan to send more troops to Iraq.

Continuing Appropriations, FY2007 - H.J.Res.__The House will take up this measure to fund government operations through the end of the 2007 fiscal year.

They need to pass more than the minimum wage they need to pass a living wage.

this is more of a concern this week, Friday to be exact:

The international quartet is to meet February 2 in the U.S. capital, according to the State Department.
US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will host Lavrov, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana, and EU External Relations Commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner.

This week Friday is the meeting here.....will Cheney drop in? Who knows. Will the Chimp drop in? Let's hope not, we don't want to have to worry if there is a Gerbil speak translator around.
