which puts a pinch in the chimpster's purse...
The Boston Globe reports today that House Democrats may try to force a closure of Guantanamo, Abu Ghraib and other secret prisons by cutting off funding for them.
Representative John P. Murtha, the chairman of the powerful Defense Appropriations subcommittee and a close ally of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, said he wants to close both prisons by cutting their funding, "to restore our credibility worldwide." If he succeeds, it would force the administration to find a new location for high-value terrorism suspects.
Murtha said Nancy Pelosi supports the closure move.

Yes I saw the Chimp on 60 minutes last night. In the helicopter (Marine 1)pointing out the Washington Memorial, at Camp David, in Air Force One, lots of scenery no substance to his interview. He kept looking dumb, grinning and looking into space and the interviewer Scott had to keep helping him finish the answer. When the Chimp did talk it was the same old same old rehearsed stuff that his handlers fed him.
Bush showed the world his stupid and an idiot. He sound more like a Dictator then President. It was sad and a big mistake to put on TV. I think it made it worse for him. It did show who incompetent his really is. He has to educate Americans yet his not educated enough to explain anything. I know the World leaders were laughing at that interview.
Most of the prisoners in Gito and Abu Ghraib are now brain dead. With the torture they have received it's just their busied bodies that is left. When it does close we will see the shock of what has been done to this men. Notice the ones that were in jail for 3 years were innocent. Alot more who are currently held are innocent to. We have in prisoned innocent men and tortured them all because of an illegal law and the orders of Cheney/Rummy. One can only wonder what the United States would say if that were done to Americans.
Yes, the Chimpster's speech was nauseating. But, it was a major disappointment when he didn't apologize to the Iraqi citizens.
