Interesting day today. Yesterday, it was the defense team trying to find jurors that "trust" Cheney. Today, it is the concern of whether jurors were Bush Administration critics of the war. It has been a tough day for Fitz as defense team excuse several potential jurors who voiced opinion against the war. There has been quite often sidebars with the prosecution and defense. At times, Fitz seems a bit frustrated by how much latitude is granted to Libby's attorneys, because it draws the defense team very close to representing during voir dire that the case is about the war, which it is not. And that is what Fitz pointed out. But at the conclusion of the day:
Only 6 of 16 potential jurors made it through the screening process today. Walton needs a pool of 36 potential jurors. Jury selection will continue into next week. This delays the opening arguments scheduled for January 22.
