Durbin is traveling with Illinois State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias, a Democrat first elected in 2006 who has taken initial steps toward running for Burris’s Senate seat in 2010.
Durbin will visit Athens next Wednesday for talks with Bakoyannis along with Giannoulias.

It would make sense, first off Burris is under Blagojevich clouds, and new ones each and every day.
Alexi is a friend of Obama's, well liked in Illinois, fought Blago, and this would help keep a Democrat in that seat.
Supposidly the GOP won't be importing a candidate the next election. (circa, Alan Keyes vs. Obama)
Ok TGCN I'll google Alexi for more information and background. I mess up names so I'll copy paste his. Where's that cat anyway he's my source for indept information smile. I saw an ad with Frisky cat food and the cat was chasing butterflys and other things I thought of Mr. Kitty Bowtie chasing the rabbits.
