And with Colin Powell's endorsement to Obama's campaign, this will be a battle for McCain to maintain a lead in the red states in favor of him in this election stretch..
He and his aides appear so confident of his prospects that apart from a brief stop in Madison, Wis., next Thursday, Obama currently has no plans during the next 10 days to return to Pennsylvania, Minnesota, New Hampshire or any other state that voted for John Kerry in 2004.
Instead, he intends to spend two days this week in Florida, where early voting begins on Monday, and travel to Virginia, Iowa, Ohio, Colorado, New Mexico and possibly Nevada and Indiana. Those states hold 97 electoral votes combined, and Bush all in 2004.
Obama strategist David Axlerod says:
"I don't want to say he won't go to a Blue State, but we're certainly concentrating on expanding the map."

Some Media reports are making it strange for him to visit Red States. Now I have my own experience and I'm not a candidate for President. When I visited the South as an adult it was one of the best experiences I've had. I found people to be some of the nicest people and made to feel welcome. Yes I had a hard time cutting through the accent but they were even more interested in mine which I didn't realize I had an accent. Obama will do just fine as he travels and learns that Americans are just Americans all over the USA. To be President of all the people you first have to know all the people.
