This is the dumbing down of journalism.

This is up on the Yahoo News site at the moment, a story about Obama opting out of public financing:
There is no mention of bin Laden anywhere in the story.
And there was no apology from the media on the photo.

Since you posted this, they have changed the picture at Yahoo. I didn't see any apology though. Goes to show how much right wing influence is in the media. It is the kind of thing that they can oops, sorry and pretend it was just a mistake, when it was probably deliberate. I think whoever did that should be fired immediately.
Yup, you are right. No apology from Yahoo news. If Yahoo news used a distorted fake photo of Teflon John, the McCain camp would all over Yahoo news. This will be a very ugly campaign.
