Four Iranian embassy staff and their Iraqi driver were wounded on May 15 when their convoy was shot in Baghdad.
Gov't to redistribute gas masks The Israeli cabinet decided to redistribute gas masks to the public beginning in 2009. In 2006, the Defense Ministry began collecting the masks from the public’s homes. The Defense Ministry decided that it will establish distribution centers such as shopping malls where people can come and pick up their gas masks.

The government has been in beg-borrow-and-steal mode [oh, but not for KBR and Blackwater], trying to hire psychiatrists and other professionals, recruit them with incentives or borrow them from other agencies.

The pilot program ordered by the Department of Homeland Security in response to the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks uses continuous monitoring of public water for contaminants that could sicken or kill millions of people.
37 protesters detained at illegal rally in South Korea against US beef imports South Korean police detained 37 protesters for holding an illegal rally against a beef imports agreement with the United States, a police officer said Sunday. Thousands of South Koreans have taken part in candlelight vigils in recent weeks urging the government to scrap a recent deal to resume imports of U.S. beef. The protesters have cited lingering mad cow disease concerns.
