From Thinkprogress:
Capital BlueCross VP of Corporate Communications Barclay Fitzpatrick recently went to see Moore’s film SiCKO. In an internal memo, he writes, “You would have to be dead to be unaffected by Moore’s movie.” He worries that if “popular, the movie will have a negative impact on our image in this community,” and suggests “talking points” to discount the film. The movie will make you laugh, cry and get angry. It showed reality and how much the US has lost in human rights. The stories were of average Americans that everyone could relate to. Michael made each person who told their story have proof and evidence to support their accounts. I related to the husband/wife who lost everything they worked for and had to move in with their daughter and her family.
I also was shocked at one medication that cost a lady $150. each and she had to use two a month. Yes $300. dollars for two medication that really cost 5 cent each. Americans are dying because their government is giving taxpayers money to Iraq and big business. Millions will die in the US who could have lived but no one cared. We have because a country who practices ME not We. The haves and the have nots.
The sad part of the movie Sicko is the American people think these leaders are Christians yet this isn't the way Jesus taught Christian act.
Humana is mentioned. The Wal-mart people greeter thing above got me thinking about some directive from Wal-mart wanting some brochures from Humana destroyed. But, I have **no idea** which Humana brochures, but something smells funky.
If you are a CEO/CFO/COO etc of one of these big insurance companies, you don't have a concious anyhow and laugh all the way to the bank on your obscene bonuses of millions.
