Robert Greenwald’s Brave New Films has launched a new video laying out the evidence for the articles of impeachment against Dick Cheney. Watch it:
From LAist:
Maxine Waters was celebrating the opening of the nation's first Impeachment Center (8124 West 3rd Street), a place that has suddenly grown in interest in the wake of President Bush's recent controversial move involving Scooter Libby's conviction.
Waters said that this impeachment movement, "is one of the most important efforts this country has ever seen."
Indeed, some say that the president's commuting of Libby's prison sentence could create precedent called The Libby Motion which would allow other perjurers and obstructers of justice to serve zero days in jail too. The President of the United States had just said that lying in a federal trial involving National Security deserved a fine and "probation" but no jail time for Scooter Libby, therefore in equal or lessor situations, similar convicted felons should also be able to skip being in jail.
Meanwhile an Iraq War veteran who was thrown in jail for 14 months after filling out a conscientious objector application so he could be excused from being redeployed, is calling bullshit on the Libby situation. And the Libby judge is saying that the little guy might have to spend some time in the pokey after all.
Here is the video of Congresswoman Maxine Waters:
