Hello, Teak!

A lot of people are really confused about Libby's charges. Libby was never charged with treason, being the leaker, or part of the plot to punish Joe Wilson. He was charged with perjury and obstruction of justice. And that charges does not carry like a charge for treason. The obstruction of justice for Libby carried up to 10 years in prison. Bloggers have to keep in mind this:

It is up to Judge Walton's decision of what Libby will be sentence. Because defense lawyer Ted Wells pulled that stunt with Walton by hokking him to think that Libby would take the stand, we have no idea what Walton's final decision.

Finally, keep in mind that the CIA leak case was interrupted and obstrcted by the WH. So, the entire CIA leak case hasn't been fully investigated. Now, if and wgen Waxman and the House Judicial Committee decide to reopen the CIA leak case, have a Special Counsel reinvestigate the case again, and investigate a WH conspiracy to discredit Wilson, then Libby would be charged with treason along with other charges. But, those charges are separate with the changes and sentencing of Libby. So, many folks are not looking at the big picture in this case.
