NYT: With Rumsfeld gone, Iraq war critics focus on Rice

Now that Donald Rumsfeld is no longer Defense Secretary, Iraq war critics have set their sights on Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, The New York Times will report in Sunday's paper.
"For six years, first as national security adviser and then as secretary of state, Condoleezza Rice worked under the cover of an effective shield: Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld, who was the administration's lightning rod for criticism over its handling of Iraq," Helene Cooper writes for the Times. "But in recent weeks, with Rumsfeld gone, Rice has faced increased, and somewhat unfamiliar, criticism."

Hopefully all the panhandling in the world won't give the Gerbil more of our money.

WASHINGTON - The Bush administration said Thursday it will ask Congress for $120 billion more for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
If approved by Congress, the war money would push spending related to the wars toward a staggering half-trillion dollars.
About $70 billion of the new war money will be requested for operations in Iraq and Afghanistan this year, bringing total spending on the two campaigns to $120 billion for the current budget year. The Congressional Budget Office has estimated that $320 billion has been spent on Iraq and Afghanistan since the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, including $50 billion that Congress sent Bush in December.

As for Rice, she is another puppet for Cheney, and could still be gettting advice from Rumsfield. His resignation events were nauseating, how someone like this could get such recognition, for being responsible for such a mess.

Pelosi and 110th Congress know the Gerbil's game. That is why Pelosi is controlling the Gerbil's purse. Sure, there will be money allocated to Iraq but to the SOLDIER ONLY ACTIVELY ON DUTY and not to simply give the Gerbil the money. Pelosi knows that if she gives the money to the Gerbil that none of that money would be accounted for. That is why there is a current investigation by Waxman concerning the Iraq reconstuction. So, Pelosi is hipped to the Gerbil's panhandling for money for Iraq.
