On Blago,
Many have said celibrities don't get jail time, and Blago did his best to become a celebrity.
There were 24 counts, and then 4 against Robert (Brother)
The charges against Robert were split almost down the middle with Jurors.
As far as Blagojevich, lying to Feds was the one they all agreed on. The one that was close was one Juror did not feel he was guilty on selling the Senate seat. The rest of the charges had 3 or more jurors that did not think he was guilty.
A lot of jurors were interviewed and said the Prosecutors did not go in order they jumped around a lot (as far as sequencial order) and it made it difficult to keep things straight and follow.
The word around town is wife (Patti Blagojevich) was more guilty of crimes than brother Robert.
Maybe the Prosecutors felt Rod would be jailed and to spare the young girls (daughters) one parent. As you may have heard the daughters were in court on the final days of the wrap up.
Blagojevich (Rod)'s lawyers Sam Adams Jr and Sr. had a colorful wrap up after the verdict. Sam Sr. called Fitgerald nuts.
By the way we have been having so many shootings in this town, more people are paying attention to that, especially a lot of children getting caught in crossfire from gangs.
Yes it was a circus this summer. Also the movie Transformers 3 has been shooting on our Mag mile (Magnificant Mile, aka Michigan Avenue, aka a tourist destination, where all the upscale restaurants, stores, hotels etc are) has been shut down and transformed to a movie set disaster area with buckled pavement rocks, destroyed vehicles etc. A lot going on in this town.
Looks lioke Blago is the talk on this blog. An Anonymous blogger complained that he/she wishes the Blago circus go away. Kittybowtie is recovering from the Blago verdict.
And now Blago believe that he is a celebrity and making total mockery of Illinois.
