Reporting from Chicago Tribune yesterday:
Lawyers for former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich told the judge today they planned on resting without calling any witnesses, including Rod. The judge told them to think about it overnight.
The reason, according to Sam Adam, Jr,:
"The government hasn't proven anything and by getting up there and answering questions it gives them credence to what they've put on so far," Blagojevich's attorney Sam Adam Jr. told reporters.
Sam Adam, Sr. told the jury in opening Blago would testify

Closing Statements are sure going to be good.
I hope Baloneyvitch leaves town for good. I am so sick of his circus.
Blago doesn't have a case, Anon. He was hosed when the prosecutors played the tapes. Those tapes were so damning. I got a chance to listen to at least two of the tapes on the USDOJ website. And it is very damaging. Blago should have plea bargain with Fitzgerald in the beginning.
I look forward to closing arguments. And I know that you and others who live in the Illinois area want this circus to end. Blago is simply toasted.
