The Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission released more details about is subpoena of Goldman Sachs & Co., shedding light on the type of information the panel is seeking from the company:
According to a summary of the subpoena, the panel is seeking details on Goldman's synthetic and hybrid collaterized debt obligations based on mortgage-backed securities. It's also seeking a way to identify Goldman's customers. In addition, the commission wants interviews with key Goldman executives, such Craig Broderick, chief risk officer; Jonathan Egol, a managing director; and Michael Sherwood, co-chief executive of Goldman's European operations.
The commission also requested interviews with the employees who knew the most about Goldman's Abacus collateralized debt obligation deal, its credit derivatives activities and the transactions between American International Group Inc. and Goldman.
